BUFFALO, NY — CPL, a full-service design firm serving public and private-sector clients for more than 48 years, is pleased to welcome Kisha Patterson, RA, NCARB, LEED GA to its office in Buffalo, NY.
Patterson joins the firm as a seasoned Project Architect with more than two decades of experience in the A/E industry, and will collaborate with fellow team members to enhance quality of life through innovative design. She brings to the firm experience in design and development for projects spanning a myriad of sectors, including multisite commercial, multifamily, residential, higher education, K-12 and green buildings, and will be primarily responsible for performing analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies and limited design layouts for assignments spanning diverse practice areas.
Passionate about promoting economic development, environmental responsibility, social justice and sustainable growth while preserving cultural and architectural heritage, beyond her professional work as an architect, Patterson creates art centered around the African-American neighborhoods where she has lived and worked in Pittsburgh and Buffalo. Additionally, she serves as a technical and community engagement consultant for historic and adaptive reuse projects, and as a Chairperson of the nonprofit Emerging Leaders in Arts in Buffalo.
Prior to joining CPL, Patterson served as a Senior Staff Architect for JW Architecture & Design in Erie, PA. She earned a Master of Architecture from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Architecture from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. She maintains professional architectural licensure in New York and Pennsylvania, and is an active member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), as well as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Associate (LEED GA).
