Genesee County Golden Road Pump Station

‹ Portfolio

In 2017, Genesee County launched the second phase of a water improvement project. This initiative addresses water demands throughout the County as a result of increased usage from farmers, businesses and industrial parks. It also aimed to bring an additional 2.4 million gallons of water daily from Monroe County, alleviating pressure on the City of Batavia’s overloaded water plant.

Central to this expansive endeavor is the Golden Road Pump Station. During this project’s planning and design phases, we worked closely with County stakeholders to identify suitable properties for construction, engage with landowners for acquisition and plan for future expansion. These efforts highly influenced design aspects like location, size, pump quantity and technical features.

Internally, the station is equipped for optimal functionality, boasting two pumps, a chlorine injection room, restroom facilities and a motor control center facilitating pump operation. The control system, outfitted with specialized instrumentation meters, critically supports efficient monitoring.

Externally, the building stands out with distinctive features, including a green metal roof, brick materials and attractive landscaping.

The Golden Road Pump Station is a testament to a design that blends function and visual appeal. It effectively meets rising water demand, significantly contributing to sustainable water services for Genesee County and its neighbors.
