Tappan Zee High School Turf Field Replacement

‹ Portfolio

Included in an extensive Capital Improvement Project (CIP), the South Orangetown Central School District prioritized replacing Teppan Zee High School’s existing turf field due to its age and lack of school branding.

Leveraging data and guided feedback from key stakeholders and experts specializing in synthetic sports turf replacement, the district confidently selected the emergent and environmentally conscious coconut infill system specifically engineered for controlled performance and impact safety.

The central placement of the school’s logo and the integration of red, white, gray and black colors highlighted South Orangetown’s prominent brand identity on the athletic field. Additionally, under directed leadership, the wooden grandstand was rebuilt into a steel structure with increased spectator seating that complements the new turf field.

Trusted design choices centered around the well-being of the school’s students and athletic performers, along with a historic understanding of the district’s prerequisites were key to turning this existing turf field into a vital public asset for the community to appreciate.
