The Varsity Research Building houses the Plant and Insect Disease Clinic, operated by North Carolina State University in partnership with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service. This facility offers invaluable expertise to assist both local and nationwide farmers, growers, landscapers, homeowners and gardeners with plant and insect issue diagnoses.
This feasibility study was a collaborative effort involving CPL’s higher education team and McKim & Creed, aimed at enhancing research and educational capabilities as well as exploring the renovation of a portion of the Varsity Research Building, which had been initially constructed in 2003.
The facility comprises 10 adaptable modules designed to cater to the evolving needs of various research groups. The study also focused on accommodating the Plant and Insect Disease Clinic and a teaching lab for the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology.
