CPL provided architecture and planning services, developing the master plan and construction documents for the project within the context of Woodstock’s historic downtown.
The design balances the functional and technical requirements of a performance venue with the City’s vision for an inviting, cohesive public space. The amphitheater and surrounding park were carefully planned to maximize audience capacity and views during performances while maintaining flexibility for a wide variety of community activities, gatherings and everyday use throughout the year.
Beyond the primary performance venue, the master plan prioritizes connectivity and public access, preserving opportunities for residents and visitors to experience the surrounding park and amenities even when events are not underway. The design also accommodates established community traditions while providing adaptable spaces capable of supporting new programs and uses as the City continues to grow.
A consistent architectural and site design vocabulary unifies the expanded park and amphitheater, creating a distinct sense of place that complements the character and history of downtown Woodstock. The result is a vibrant, multifunctional public destination that strengthens the City’s civic core and provides a lasting setting for performances, recreation and community connection.
