Vive Vascular partnered with CPL to design a new 6,440 sq. ft. Office-Based Lab (OBL) in the growing medical park of Gahanna, Ohio.

Relocating from their previous location, the cardiovascular group sought a modern facility that would support advanced procedures, streamline staff workflow and enhance the patient experience. Located on the second floor of a multi-tenant medical office building, the new OBL is carefully organized into three distinct zones.
The clinic zone includes exam rooms, ultrasound suites and staff work areas, providing a functional setting for patient evaluation and consultation.

The procedure suite features a mobile C-Arm-equipped procedure room, four pre/post-op bays, a centrally located nurse station, and dedicated support spaces. This suite also connects to the adjacent ambulatory surgical center, allowing staff to share resources and improve care coordination.
The staff zone incorporates physician offices, a conference room, a breakroom, and locker areas, with additional connectivity to the surgical center to further streamline operations.

A defining feature of the design is its use of natural light—an uncommon amenity in most OBL environments. Floor-to-ceiling windows were introduced in the procedure room and pre/post-op bays, bringing daylight into patient care areas and creating a brighter, more uplifting atmosphere. Positioned across from these windows, the nurse station maintains visibility into patient spaces while benefiting from the same enhanced environment.

Through thoughtful zoning, integration of daylight, and seamless connectivity with adjacent surgical facilities, Vive Vascular’s OBL provides a highly functional, patient-centered setting that advances both clinical excellence and staff well-being.
