CPL Welcomes Kathleen DeLuca, Jordan Fernweh and David Pearce in Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY — CPL, a full-service design firm that has served public and private-sector clients for 47 years, is pleased to welcome Kathleen DeLuca, CDT, Associate AIA, Jordan Fernweh and David Pearce to its growing team in Rochester, NY.

Joining CPL as a Senior Architectural Designer, DeLuca will provide expert consultation throughout the planning, design and coordination phases of complex architectural projects spanning the firm’s diverse practice areas. Leveraging more than two decades of experience in advanced community, multi-family, senior housing and K-12 building design; project administration; and bid documentation, she will write and edit architectural specifications, conduct design and contract document work sessions and research codes, guidelines and regulations to implement industry-best practices.

DeLuca most recently served as a Senior Project Designer and Technical Coordinator at SWBR. She earned an Associate of Applied Science in architectural engineering technology from Alfred State College, and is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). She also maintains accreditation with the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) as a licensed Construction Documents Technologist (CDT), and completed Dale Carnegie’s professional Effective Communications and Human Relations training courses.

Fernweh joins the firm as an Architectural Designer. His core competencies will include preparing drawings for all project phases; providing assistance throughout the proposal creation and submission process; developing 3D building models in AutoCAD and Revit; performing submittal reviews; and ensuring compatibility between building systems and material selections.

Fernweh previously worked as a Remodeling Contractor Assistant for Creative Contracting, LLC, and taught immersive technology courses at the International School of Nanshan Shenzen in Shenzen, China. He studied packaging science at Monroe Community College and earned a Bachelor of Science in packaging science from the Rochester Institute of Technology, as well as an Associate of Applied Science in architecture technology from Finger Lakes Community College. He also maintains a LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certification and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) accreditation.

Pearce also joins the firm as an Architectural Designer, and will be primarily responsible for writing and reviewing plans and estimates, developing detailed architectural drawings and models and participating in product research and selection. In addition to his aptitude in AutoCAD, Rhino and the Adobe Creative Suite, Pearce demonstrates exceptional customer service skills, which will greatly aid project teams during interactive client visioning sessions.

Pearce served as an architectural intern prior to joining CPL full-time. He earned a Bachelor of Science in architecture from SUNY Buffalo and achieved several awards over the course of his academic career, including the George H. Ball Community Achievement Award, bestowed by Keuka College, and the George Eastman Youth Leaders Award, bestowed by the University of Rochester.
