ROCHESTER, NY —CPL, a full-service design firm serving public and private-sector clients for more than 50 years, is excited to announce the addition of four new team members—Nathan McKenna, Maxwell Remick, Mason Miller and Mapendo Tumaini—across its New York offices.
In Rochester, McKenna joins the Mechanical Engineering Team, and will support building systems projects by developing mechanical design solutions that integrate energy efficiency, occupant comfort and constructability.
McKenna previously worked with the Wayne County Water and Sewer Authority, contributing to civil and mechanical design initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he achieved Dean’s List honors and built proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Also in Rochester, Remick begins his role with the Civil Engineering Team, where he will assist in site design and infrastructure development with a focus on resilience and technical accuracy.
His previous field experience at the New York State Department of Transportation included construction inspection, concrete testing and erosion control. Remick earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University and boasts technical skills in AutoCAD, SAP2000 and Revit.
In Buffalo, Miller steps into a role with the Architectural Team, responsible for contributing to the design and documentation of educational and civic spaces, applying his expertise in Revit modeling, space planning and detailing.
Miller is a recent graduate of Alfred State College, where he received his Bachelor of Architecture. He also earned an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Technology from Finger Lakes Community College.
Tumaini additionally joins CPL Buffalo as a member of the Municipal Team, supporting the firm’s urban planning and placemaking efforts through GIS analysis, stakeholder engagement and community development strategies.
Her background includes work on Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) projects and leading educational series on planning policy with Preservation Buffalo Niagara. Tumaini holds a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from Buffalo State University, along with an undergraduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems.
