ROCHESTER, NY — CPL, a full-service design firm serving public and private-sector clients for more than 49 years, is pleased to welcome Sebastian Czajka, Ryan Phillips, Maggie Schultz and Connor Weihoneig, Assoc. AIA, to its offices in Buffalo and Rochester, NY.
Czajka joins the firm’s Civil Engineering team as a Construction Inspector in CPL Buffalo. In this role, he will leverage his strong background in construction management and home inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations. With expertise in coordinating with trade partners, conducting thorough inspections, and providing detailed reports, Czajka is committed to maintaining high standards and facilitating successful project completions.
Before joining CPL, Czajka served as a construction manager at Lennar Corporation. He holds several certifications, including a Master Inspector Certification, a Security D License, and Internachi certifications in Wind Mitigation and Wood Destroying Organisms Inspection.
Phillips is also joining the firm’s Buffalo office. As an Architectural Designer, he will create impactful architectural designs for higher education institutions using his expertise in Revit modeling and interactive technologies. With a diverse portfolio that encompasses community-focused and educational design solutions, Phillips is dedicated to advancing design excellence and fostering educational outreach.
Prior to CPL, Phillips worked as an Architectural Designer and Drafter at Albert Chao Architect, pllc. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design with a minor in Architecture from the University at Buffalo, where he received the Design Excellence Award. Phillips is involved with various community-focused organizations, including Black Holistic Urbanism and the Jefferson Ave Corridor Coalition.
Schultz joins the firm’s Rochester office as an Energy Engineering Designer, bringing her passion for sustainability and expertise in energy to support K-12 projects. With a solid background in data analysis and environmental policy, she will leverage her skills to develop energy solutions that will drive climate action and create practical applications in educational environments.
Before joining CPL full-time, Schultz interned with the firm and worked for State Senator Michelle Hinchey, where she conducted legislative research on the Hudson Valley Watershed. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Sustainability Management from the State University of New York at New Paltz, where she has consistently made the Dean’s List.
Weihoneig will be an Architectural Designer working with the firm’s Architectural team at CPL Rochester. He will enhance the built environment using his expertise in design software such as Revit, Lumion, Enscape, and the Adobe Creative Suite. His prior internship at CPL has equipped him with valuable skills in effective communication and teamwork, essential for the success of architectural projects.
Before joining and interning at CPL, Weihoneig served as an Architectural Intern at SEI Design Group. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Alfred State – SUNY College of Technology, complemented by a minor in Construction Management. Weihoneig is also an Associate member of the American Institute of Architects (Assoc. AIA).
