What started as a 65-acre master plan for a revived downtown area in the City of Suwanee, sparked an in-depth market analysis and urban planning effort, which eventually became part of the state of Georgia’s Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Program. The plan in its entirety has included more than 1,200 feet of roadway with significant streetscape improvements (i.e. concrete and brick sidewalks and plazas, specialty paving, street lights and trees), additional parking spaces, and the design of a 10-acre park complete with an outdoor performance stage. Town Center development has also included more than 60,000 s.f. of retail space, a 30,000 s.f. City Hall, and hundreds of residential units.
This project has been recognized by several noteworthy entities including the Atlanta Regional Commission (2009 Development of Excellence), the Georgia Municipal and Georgia Trend Magazine (Trendsetter Award in Economic and Community Development), and the Georgia Planning Association (Best Plan Implementation).
