CPL provided architecture and interior design services for the renovation of approximately 16,000 sq. ft. to create a safe, supportive and patient-centered environment tailored to the unique needs of children, teens, families and care teams.

The renovated unit balances the specialized requirements of a behavioral health setting with an environment designed to feel welcoming, age-appropriate and non-institutional. Bright, engaging finishes and thoughtfully selected furnishings help create a sense of comfort and familiarity, while the overall layout supports safety, visibility, flexibility and efficient staff workflows.
Program spaces include patient rooms, classrooms, flexible dining and activity areas, therapy and exam rooms, overnight accommodations, family support areas and dedicated staff spaces.
Beyond creating an improved environment for patients and families, the relocation strengthens connections across AHWFB’s behavioral health services and supports a more collaborative, multidisciplinary model of care. By thoughtfully aligning clinical spaces, support functions and patient-focused amenities, the new unit enhances access, improves operational efficiencies for care teams and provides an environment that supports patients and families throughout treatment and their transition back into the community.
