With a mission to foster students’ individual talents and abilities in a nurturing environment of equity, the Rochester City School District embarked on an ambitious renovation project to transform this 60-year-old, pre-k through 6th grade school into a highly inclusive educational building with expanded space and a variety of nimble learning options.

Various dynamic modernizations, improvements and enhancements were made throughout the school’s interior and exterior, with perhaps the most impactful being a new, two-story, eight-classroom addition and Maker Space connected to a large, bright and inspiring educational courtyard.

Through renovations, Clara Barton School No. 2 has become a renewed, modernized hub for learning that supports individual achievement, fosters equality, and instills pride among students and faculty.
