Since 1995, CPL has designed several expansions and renovations at the Greensboro Science Center. One of the largest expansions to date was to the outdoor Animal Discovery exhibit, which features more than twenty live animal habitats on 22 acres of land. Animal habitats in this exhibit include environments for lemurs and marmosets, coatimundis, tamanduas, meerkats, gibbons, wallabies, tigers, barnyard animals and a giant tortoise.
Another significant addition was the 26,000 s.f. SciQuarium (designed with aquarium specialist, Cambridge Seven Associates), which showcases African penguins, a fishing cat, a variety of saltwater ocean species, otters and a ray and shark touch tank.
