GENESEO, NY—On November 7, 2024, CPL joined University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) leadership, local officials and area residents to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of a new, 46,500 sq. ft. medical office building on URMC’s Geneseo campus.
Standing as a cornerstone of healthcare excellence in Livingston County, the campus has provided essential services to the surrounding community for decades. However, with growing patient volume and demand for specialized treatment, administrators sought to expand offerings by introducing additional specialty clinics.
To achieve this, CPL’s healthcare practice team worked with URMC and Pike Construction Services to envision the new building from the ground up, bringing a host of comprehensive disciplines—spanning everything from family medicine and ophthalmology to orthopedics and urology—together under one roof.
Inside, an expansive, two-story lobby filled with natural light acts as a central hub, unifying clinics on both floors. Spacious, private waiting areas guarantee discretion, while strategically placed staff hubs optimize movement and patient flow.
Key program components include an orthopedic suite equipped with on-site X-ray and casting rooms; a dedicated blood draw lab with a separate entry and extended hours for visitor convenience; and a ground-level connection to the existing adjacent facility, enhancing operational accessibility.
The exterior blends seamlessly with the established architectural style of the Geneseo campus, integrating matching brickwork and masonry to cultivate a cohesive visual identity.
“The new Geneseo Medical Office Building is a great addition to the services provided by URMC in Livingston County,” said CPL Architect Jen LaChance, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, who served as Project Manager. “Every detail was designed with the community in mind, ensuring patients receive top-tier care in a space that prioritizes patient experiences and provider functionality.”
Serving as Architect of Record, CPL worked alongside Pike Construction Services (Construction Manager) to deliver this $17.3 million design-build project.
The facility officially began welcoming patients in November, marking a bright new chapter in local healthcare.
