CPL Welcomes Ariana Hood and Michael McKinney in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, NC — CPL, a full-service design firm serving public and private-sector clients for more than 47 years, is pleased to welcome Ariana Hood, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C and Michael McKinney to its office in Greensboro, NC.

Hood joins the team as Project Architect with more than a decade of experience designing laboratory and life science, office, medical, community, restaurant, industrial and central utility facilities for large-scale campuses. She will participate in all phases of a project from early programming to construction administration, leading productive design and contract document work sessions and facilitating dynamic synergy between the CPL team and external stakeholders.

Hood is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional with a focus in building design and construction (LEEP AP BD+C), and obtained a 10-Hour construction safety certification from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). She is also an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

Prior to joining the firm, Hood served as a Project Architect for PNP Design Group. She earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and maintains professional architectural licensure in the state of North Carolina.

In his new role as an Architectural Technician, McKinney will apply expertise in architectural design, drafting, geographic information systems (GIS) and engineering principles toward creating and maintaining 3D building models; coordinating structural, electrical and mechanical plans; preparing survey maps and layouts; estimating construction costs; and participating in product research and selection.

He is also highly skilled in the production of construction documents and will oversee construction administration efforts for various projects.

McKinney previously served as a Senior Project Coordinator for CBSA Architects in Hickory, NC. He earned an Associate of Applied Science in architectural technology from Catawba Valley Community College.
