GREENSBORO, NC — CPL, a full-service design firm serving public and private-sector clients for more than 48 years, is pleased to welcome Gary Goodson, P.E. to its office in Greensboro, NC.
Goodson joins the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering team as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in design for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing systems. He will bring to this role expertise in hydronic and DX systems and laboratory ventilation systems and controls, and is adept at managing budgets and troubleshooting ventilation issues, with a proven track record of analyzing data to identify performance improvements and energy conservation measures that prioritize occupant safety. His core competencies will include developing conceptual designs, supervising system installations, researching and selecting equipment and preparing project specifications.
Prior to joining CPL, Goodson served as a Senior Mechanical Engineer for 3Flow, Inc. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University. He also maintains professional engineering licensure (P.E.) in North Carolina, and is a certified Mitsubishi Diamond Designer.
Outside of work, Goodson is an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineer’s (ASHRAE) Laboratory Systems Subcommittee, as well as the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL); through ASHRAE, he has contributed to the official Classification of Laboratory Ventilation Design Levels. The leadership team is confident that his knowledge and vision will help elevate project outcomes on behalf of CPL and clients alike.
