CANTON, GA — On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, CPL joined Canton City officials and members of the community to celebrate the groundbreaking for a new, two-story, 98-space parking deck located at the corner of Archer Street and West Marietta Street, in downtown Canton.
Centrally located and offering direct connections to the City Hall, the structure will provide a much-needed parking solution for visitors, patrons, business owners, and City government employees alike.
Covered on both levels, the deck’s bottom level will be accessible from Archer Street, with the top being accessible from behind City Hall. The new structure will also feature a solar array on top to provide a sustainable power source for the deck lighting as well as electricity for ten vehicle charging stations.
CPL worked alongside partners, TerraMark (Land Surveying) and ECS (Environmental and Geotechnical Engineering), to provide architectural, M/E/P engineering, structural engineering, civil/site design and construction management services for the project.
CPL Project Manager, Brian Miller, P.E., stated, “Our team worked closely with the City of Canton to deliver a design that would be consistent with the historic architectural character of downtown Canton, while still featuring modern amenities to offset electrical operating costs for the City.”
The $2.9 million project is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2022.
