With rapid growth in Alamance County driving increased demand for cardiac care, Cone Health saw an opportunity to upgrade facilities at Alamance Regional Medical Center (ARMC). Built in 1996, the original department struggled with limited capacity and scattered services, causing inefficiencies and stress for both patients and staff.

Our healthcare practice team was entrusted to create a new, dedicated Heart & Vascular Center with its own entrance and covered drop-off, simplifying navigation. To accomplish this, we relocated the existing Breast Center, expanding the space to double the number of procedure rooms from two to four.
Open cubicles were also replaced with private recovery suites, enhancing patient dignity and privacy, and discharge doors minimize bottlenecks with a circular flow.
With calming blue and green hues, abundant natural light and views of nature, the interior promotes a tranquil environment. Additionally, shell spaces enable easy conversion for new purposes—whether expanding to include extra labs and imaging rooms, or accommodating other care functions—without disrupting operations.
Standing as a beacon of comprehensive heart health, the Heart & Vascular Center exemplifies operational excellence and future readiness—ensuring each step of the patient journey is supported by thoughtful design and a commitment to holistic well-being.
