CHARLOTTE, NC — CPL, a full-service design firm serving public and private-sector clients for more than 48 years, is pleased to welcome Joshua Mace, NCARB, Taylor Bishal, AIA and John Jordan Edmond to its office in Charlotte, NC.
Mace joins CPL as a Project Architect, and will apply an analytical approach to design, planning and occupancy studies to serve Healthcare Practice clients and their communities. He brings to the firm expertise in the coordination of complex life safety plans; building information modeling (BIM) processes; and performance automation, including the implementation of more efficient Revit, drawing, reality capture and research workflows. As a proponent of evidence-based design, he will leverage scientific data to make well-informed decisions that elevate patient care and improve outcomes.
Mace previously served as a Project Architect for the DLR Group. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in architecture and a Master of Architecture from Clemson University, and is a registered architect in the state of North Carolina. He also maintains professional accreditation with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
Also joining as a Project Architect is Bishal, who will be responsible for leading design charrettes, writing and reviewing plans and estimates and designing detailed models in AutoCAD and Revit for a wide range of Community Practice assignments. With nearly a decade of experience serving higher education, municipal and government clients, he demonstrates a deep understanding of critical architectural principles as well as the mapping and analysis of the urban fabric, and will empower clients to play an active role in the design process through highly interactive and explorative visioning sessions.
Prior to joining CPL, Bishal served as an Architect for ClarkNexsen. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in architecture, a Master of Architecture and a Master of Urban Design from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He maintains professional architectural licensure with the state of North Carolina, and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
Edmond joins the firm as a Spatial Data Technician who will apply technical dexterity and data management skills to scan and map expansive work sites and hard-to-reach places. Once retrieved, he will consolidate the information into detailed graphs, charts and databases to bring buildings and landscapes to life in 3D for clients across a myriad of market sectors and geographic locations.
As an enthusiastic and detail-oriented visionary, Edmond will approach every project at CPL with passion and professional expertise. He is also proficient in various 3D visioning software, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcPro and SmallWorld.
Edmond previously served as a Geographic Information Systems Technician for Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC. He earned a Bachelor of Science in geospatial science from Radford University.
