Envisioned as an architecturally dynamic and expressive building, the Highsmith Student Center functions as the heart of the UNC Asheville campus, both geographically and socially. Containing the bookstore, administrative and student government offices, flexible meeting rooms, Café/food court, convenience store, art gallery and post office, the building is a very active center of student life.
The addition to and renovation of the University’s existing 1970’s building accommodated a growing student population an increase in programmatic needs.
